Welcome to kindergarten at Gold Rush Elementary! My name is Hays Padrnos and I have the privilege and honor of being your child’s first elementary school teacher for the 2019-2020 school year! This will be my 16th year of teaching and my third year at GRE. I am proud to be a member of this smart, caring staff and positive, supportive community. Being a kindergarten teacher brings me great joy. Everyday students make me smile, laugh and surprise me with their great capacity to learn and grow in one short year. I love being there as their journey into education begins and I believe that a large part of my job is to help them fall in love with learning and school so that they start off on the right path!
I grew up on the coasts of Virginia and California. I graduated from The University of San Diego with a degree in Elementary Education. I am one of those lucky individuals who knew what I wanted to be when I grew up from way back in first grade. I never wavered from that desire and started my teaching career straight out of college. I have taught first grade and kindergarten and even spent two years teaching at the middle school level. I took a break from teaching to stay home with my three daughters when they were younger. This upcoming school year I will have a sophomore at Santa Clara University, a senior at Chaparral and an 8th grader at Sierra Middle School. I remember each of my girl's kindergarten experiences fondly and can not believe how quickly time has passed! Our family has called Parker home for over 20 years now. I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful state. In my spare time you can find me with my family and friends, reading, walking, hiking, at a yoga class or dreaming about the beach. Our family loves to travel and we head west to be with my family in San Diego whenever the opportunity arises!
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your child over the next year. Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com. The best thing you can do to help prepare your child for kindergarten is to read to them every day! Head to our incredible Parker library and check out a stack of books every couple of weeks. Enjoy that precious time of having your little ones curled up next to you listening to a wonderful story!
Best wishes always,
